We’re often asked what alpacas are raised for, and while their adorable faces and gentle personalities are certainly a wonderful bonus, they have another gift to share: their beautiful fiber.

Alpaca fiber creates a luxurious yarn that is incredibly soft, naturally water-resistant, and hypoallergenic. If traditional wool tends to irritate your skin, alpaca fiber may be a lovely alternative. It’s every bit as warm as wool (if not warmer!), yet wonderfully softer and just as durable. From cozy socks and warm winter hats to sweaters and treasured handmade pieces, alpaca yarn can become just about anything your imagination dreams up.

All of our yarn comes directly from our very own alpacas. So, if you’ve ever visited us and made a few furry friends along the way, you can take home a little piece of them with you. A cozy reminder of the friends you made here, spun into something you can treasure.

A Little About Our Yarn

• Each ounce of fiber yields approximately 40–50 yards of yarn.

• 4 oz skeins contain approximately 200 yards.

• 7 oz skeins contain 300+ yards.

• All skeins are worsted weight.

Caring for Your Alpaca Yarn

To keep your yarn soft and beautiful for years to come, hand wash gently and lay flat to dry.

Colors currently available:

Dark Brown (Dark Cocoa)—Made from our matriarch Cocoa, with small bits of fawn (beige) our former matriarch Queenie blended in. The color is so rich and dreamy!  Available in 7 oz skeins.

Medium Brown (Warm Copper)— Made from our sassy girl, Erykah Badu. Sometimes called “red” in the mill because of it’s warm tone… this yarn also has small bits of fawn (beige) blended in. Available in 4 oz skeins.
