Artist Residency

Our mission is to serve artists by providing the space to create, connect, restore and renew, and to serve our community by offering an opportunity to connect with art.

With the arrival of Fall, things slow down quite a bit on Marrowstone Island. It's the perfect season to tap into that creativity you hear us mention so often. For that reason, Plum Nelli hosts a month-long artist-in-residence program, typically for the month of November.... we provide a space for artists to live and work and in-turn are able to offer our community an opportunity to connect in some creative way with the artist's work. Artists are encouraged to offer a workshop during, and/or a show towards the end of, their stay.

With stunning scenery abounding, Plum Nelli is an idyllic place for artists to find inspiration. We sit atop a hill on Marrowstone Island, overlooking Kilisut Harbor and the Olympic Mountains, with plenty of woods and glacial lakes near-by to explore. Residents are encouraged to connect with and indulge in our surroundings.

We were mesmerized by the view with light sparkling on the water, pale blue mountains in the distance, and roses spilling over the fence. We were delighted by the seaweed and seashells on Fort Flagler’s beach, the deer who came so close we could almost touch it, the beautiful linens, the cozy couch/day bed and Kathryn’s artful flower arrangements. Kind, friendly and accommodating hosts and a lovely place to stay!
